Resources, Information & Strategies
Whether this is your first baby, your third, or you need support around VBAC - I will provide resources that fit your needs.
We will discuss your ideal birth plan and look at whether providers and location are a good fit with your goals.
I will provide referrals for massage, chiropractic, acupuncture and whatever will make your pregnancy more comfortable.
Holding Space
The idea of holding space is a very simple one. This is the act of being present with another person on their journey, whatever that may be.
I promise to be present with you with an open & encouraging heart. I’ve been there and I get it. I trust in your journey.
Emotional & Physical Support
Labor can get a bit intense. I will support you with strategies and comfort measures designed around what you need in the moment.
Therapeutic touch, scents, change of position, and the use of water and movement can all help labor progress and keep you comfortable.
There are a lot of things we can do to ease you towards the moment where it all becomes worth it.
Emotionally I am here with you for this journey - all the way through.
Autonomy & Self Advocacy
This is your birth. You have the right to make decisions. Discussing and knowing ways to advocate for what you want ahead of time will include creating a birth plan to share with your care team as well as making sure you understand your rights to stay informed and make choices as events unfold.
Team Approach
Working together with you and your partner and your care team is the best way to make sure you get the best care and the best outcome possible. I strive to be a team player and I know how valuable it is to work well in a group. Clear and kind communication are so important.
Initial Breastfeeding Support
After your baby is born I provide instruction about how to position baby and make sure baby is getting a good latch. If it seems like there may be a problem, a consultation with a certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) as soon as possible is the best way forward.
Postpartum Support
Once labor is over and your baby is finally here, the real fun starts! I will follow up with one postpartum visit and am also available to you by phone and text with any questions or concerns you may have. I love to talk babies and I ‘m always happy to talk and lend an encouraging ear & heart.
